QUICKEN LOANS ARENA, CLEVELAND, OH — This morning was (probably) the last shootaround of the 2015-16 season, as even if the Golden State Warriors lose Game 6 tonight to the Cleveland Cavaliers — which would be two losses in a row — they will not likely have a morning shootaround for Game 7 because tipoff of Game 7 is scheduled to be early, at 5:00PM local Pacific time.
By the way, the above was brought to light for me by John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game.
Some brief highlights:
- Andrew Bogut was visibly distraught from his knee injury suffered.
- Reporter Ron Kroichick shook Bogut’s hand after the interview, knowing how tough it was for Bogut to answer those questions. I stuck around for nearly the whole interview, even as head coach Steve Kerr‘s started at halfcourt, because I wanted to pay proper respects to the big man and not just run off as if I were just getting what I wanted for content. I gave Bogut a fist-bump afterwards, knowing how hard it must be for him to not only miss the NBA Finals, but also most likely the Olympics (again).
- Andre Iguodala blocked our camera shot for a few seconds.
- Stephen Curry missed a bevy of “walk-away” shots. Ironically, ESPN and former Cavs reporter Brian Windhorst made a big deal of Curry’s missed shots in practice a few days ago.
I have more highlights but will hope to add them later.
