It was a night of numbers at Fenway; 500 consecutive sellouts, the 100th career win for Brad Penny, and Jacoby’s first career error.
Penny pitched 5 innings and gave up 3 hits and 1 earned run, he did get some luck on a few hard hit balls that were right at people. Masterson, Oki, RR, and Paps each pitched an inning in relief and prevented any further damage from the Marlins offense.
The Red Sox offense put up plenty of runs; fueled by Pedroia’s 3 RBI’s, Baldelli’s 2 hits and Ells’ solo homer.
