With their backs against the wall the Phillies held on to win Game 5 and send the World Series back to New York. Cliff Lee pitched well and Chase Utley had two more homers in the game but the Phillies bullpen almost gave another one away. The Yankees made a run at the lead in the top of the 9th but Derek Jeter hit into a double play in a huge at-bat. Mark Teixeira, who represented the tying run, struck out to end the game.
