Once the arbitration announcements ended the hot stove heated up quickly with Billy Wagner going to Atlanta. The arbitration news also created new demand for players that were not offered arbitration. Yesterday I put up a post about Placido Polanco becoming a possible target for the Red Sox and today Ian Browne confirmed Boston’s interest in him. The Sox aren’t the only team interested and it looks like the Phillies might get him first.
Theo is keeping all of his options open in the infield and has checked in on Bobby Crosby, Mark DeRosa and Adam Kennedy. Scutaro is still a likely choice.
Roy Halliday want to get traded before spring training to a team that can win and has their camp on the west coast of Florida…and they need to have a lot of money. That leaves the Red Sox and Yankees.
Signing Jason Bay is still a possibility for Boston and could happen as soon as the Winter Meetings.
