Marco Scutaro was at the press conference to announce his signing today at Fenway. He will be wearing #16. Theo Epstein announced that Scutaro was their first choice all along:
“We were looking to upgrade at shortstop. Right at the start we identified him as a priority”
Scutaro thanked Theo for allowing him to become a part of Red Sox Nation and explained his desire to come to Boston:
“I will say this. I took a little less money to come here with a chance to win a championship”
