Theo is Not in a Rush

If you are expecting a very different looking team in 2010 you may be very disappointed.  The Winter Meetings have shown that Theo Epstein is content on bringing back the majority of th ’09 team with a few small changes.  There will be some new faces in the bullpen and not much else.  The Red Sox will likely land Jason Bay before Christmas keeping the 2009 lineup largely intact.  Theo explains the approach, watch below:

It is hard to see the Sox competing with the Yankees lineup in 2010 but is it worth risking the future for a quick fix? Lowell and Ortiz will be gone after next season and the Sox will have money to spend. If the team can avoid injuries they will make the playoffs but we all know that is not a guarantee.
