John Lackey earned his first win for the Red Sox today after pitching well in Minneapolis. He threw 6 2/3 innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 7 hits. He did walk 4 batters in the game. His ERA is now at 1.42 after two great starts.
The Red Sox bats gave Lackey an early lead when Scutaro was driven in by Pedroia’s double. Pedey would latter homer in the game, his 4th of the season. Hermida put the Sox in the driver’s seat with a 3-run double in the 8th.
The bullpen had a few issues as Bard gave up a homer and Papelbon walked two batters but still picked up the save.
