MLB Denies Yanks Protest aka SOX WIN!

Another news story that broke yesterday was that MLB ruled on the Yankees protest of the game on Tuesday.  They ruled against the protest…and the game stands as it is.

Cue the Sad Trombone.

Cashman’s response:

“Surprise, surprise,” Cashman said.

MLB didn’t give a statement with their ruling, but I imagine once Beckett was placed on the DL on Wednesday morning…that protest was dead in the water.  I happen to think it was dead in the water anyways, but it’s hard to question if someone is really injured or not when they immediately are sent packing for 15 days due to injury.

Now.  Lock in…and get prepared.  I don’t think the Girardi protesting at the time…was a bad call.  I can see his point.  I was just as confused as he was….as to what was going on in the 5th inning when Farrell went to the mound and then suddenly…MDC is running out of the bullpen without throwing a pitch.  Josh hadn’t shown signs of being hurt…and so…I was befuddled.  There was no trainer looking at him.  And…it did seem like they had motioned to the bullpen to bring MDC in before the decision was made that Joshie was hurt.

I said at the time….it’s well documented on the twitter (if you are not following me…well…then you should be)….that I thought it looked like Shady Business.  It kind of “looked like” Tito was pulling Beckett before the game got crazy out of control…and his cranky back seemed like a great excuse.

It looks now….like that isn’t the case.  But…if I was Girardi, I would lodge the protest as well.  I am disappointed that the Yankees did not make protest signs made with puffy paint and stomp around the On Deck circle during the rest of the game.  Highly disappointing.  LOL.

Game stands.  Sox came back and gave the “business” to the Yankees….and reminded them that we still have some fight left in us…and that the season is long.
