The Red Sox appear to be gaining some consistency in the rotation and the offense is doing its part. The upcoming series with the Tampa Bay Rays will give us a sense of what this team is capable of doing the rest of the way. The Red Sox are 8.5 games behind the Rays in the division and will need to win the series to have any chance of catching them. If the Sox get swept they will be back to being a .500 team with little hope of making the post-season. If they sweep they may even find themselves in the wild-card lead with a chance of catching Tampa Bay. This is a pretty big series on the road in May and could determine if the Red Sox are going to be buyers or sellers before the deadline.
