Adrian Beltre declined his $10 million 1-year player option with the Red Sox today. He took a risk last year by signing a short term deal with Boston in the hope that he could have a rebound season and cash in. It looks like things are going the way Scott Boras had planned and Beltre could land a multi-year big money contract on the free agent market this offseason. The Red Sox may get into the bidding war for him since he fit in so well this season but at this point it looks like he will be playing elsewhere in 2011.
