The Red Sox have added another arm to their bullpen. They signed a deal with former White Sox reliever and former closer, Bobby Jenks. The deal is reported to be for 2 years, 12 million dollars.
So, the question for curious minds….where would Jenks fit into the bullpen? Would he be a set-up guy? It seems like a lot of money to give someone who would be a 7th inning guy before Bard. Does this mean Pap is on the trade block even more than we thought? I can’t see Pap not being on the roster come opening day…but it sure gives him even more motivation to have a stellar year in 2011.
Thoughts???
Edited to Add: redsox.com is reporting that the deal is close to being done, but not a done deal yet. Still looking very likely though.
