Sean McAdam from CSNNE.com tweeted that Saltalamacchia is out of the starting lineup tonight with the flu and because the Sox would like to have a backup catcher if necessary, Bobby Jenks was sent on the DL with a bad back and Luis Exposito was called up. I’m not sure Luis will get called into the game, but it sure has to be exciting for him to get the call up to the bigs and against the Yanks.
Now if he can catch a knuckleball…I have no idea.
McAdam also went on to say Exposito will be with the ballclub for a day or two and then be sent back down in order to bring up a pitcher to get the club to 12 pitchers again.
