J.D. Drew is headed to the DL with a shoulder injury, the move will free up a roster spot for Jon Lester who is scheduled to be activated. It is no secret that Drew has been struggling at the plate an has been replaced in right by hot hitting Josh Reddick. Being a contract year for Drew, he may be limited to pinch hits and spot starts for the remainder of his time in Boston. Drew has said before that he is contemplating retirement after the season.
