Dr. Thomas Graham is going to be busy in Cleveland today examining two Red Sox pitchers. Yesterday we learned that closer Andrew Bailey would be visiting Dr. Graham, a hand surgeon, to get a second opinion on his thumb. Now we are learning that Josh Beckett will also travel to Cleveland today to get a second opinion as well after visiting a doctor in San Antonio yesterday. This certainly seems like a much more serious injury than Bobby Valentine alluded to yesterday. If either pitcher needs surgery they will miss significant time this season. Bailey was told he did indeed need surgery yesterday when he was examined in Boston yesterday.
