If you’re a season ticket holder like myself you may be watching the Los Angeles Rams be giving us the fans early hints on their new uniforms. Yes the Rams will be getting new uniforms as owner Stan Kroenke wants a brand new stadium, to match the brand new jerseys. (Hopefully a brand new head coach too).
Currently the Rams are still wearing the uniforms that were made in St. Louis but they have added their on twist on it. For the home games, they are wearing the all white, and on the road depends on the home teams color. I asked multiple fans on Los Angeles home opener whats one thing the Rams should change about their team?
“The JERSEYS” was the No.1 response but remember folks it’s not that easy as it sounds.
Kevin Demoff, the Rams’ executive vice president of football operation, announced in March that the team is indeed planning to change the uniforms, but that it won’t be until they move into their new stadium in 2019. According to Demoff, it takes 2.5 years for a team to apply for a design change, get the new uniforms approved, and have the uniform and helmet companies execute the overhaul. It has only been nine months since the move to Los Angeles was approved.
So the Rams are changing their jerseys, but are they going back to their Los Angeles roots? They may be doing so with these hidden hints across the stadium.
Notice the Los Angeles Rams logo in the background. Colors used: Blue and White. No Gold, or St. Louis Blue. This is in fact a new blue that the team is using for their new logo. Next photo.
Even on the team flags. No sign of gold or navy blue. Do you remember the last time the Rams worn these colors?
Why is this significant? There are some fans that would prefer the Rams to skip the yellow gold and go all the way back to the Roman Gabriel-era uniforms of the mid 1960s and early 1970s.
That short period of Rams uniform history (1964-1972) saw the team wear just blue and white, with no gold at all.
