<![CDATA[The Los Angeles Rams must rebuild their new attitude, identity and goal for the 2017 season in free agency or else this team will have a repeat of the 2016 season. It's time to get some veterans and skilled players on the team to transform this young team into a potential playoff team. Below are some options the Rams may want to give a phone call towards.
Defense
Logan Ryan, Cornerback, New England Patriots: Estimated Cost: 4 years, $32M
The New England Patriots are going to give the big bucks to Butler, which may leave Logan as an option for the Rams, however he still is a steep price for the Rams. He is currently 26-years-old but with the Rams always being known as a young team, maybe Snead looks into the draft. Maybe the Rams pull the trigger and Johnson has a new partner in crime.
A.J. Bouye, Cornerback, Houston Texans: Estimated Cost: 4 years, $48M
The Los Angeles Rams need another solid cornerback, and Bouye may be the answer. Bouye is going to command a large contract this season, and the biggest question for the Rams is whether or not they give him the contract or another team does. Bouye is expected to make somewhere around $12 million a year on his next contract. Last season he had 63 tackles, 1 INT and 2 Forced Fumbles.
Offense
Alshon Jeffery, Wide Receiver, Chicago Bears: Estimated Cost 4 years, $54M
The Rams don’t need to break the bank simply because they feel they have to. The good teams are the ones that know when to throw money around and when to recognize that the timing isn’t right and in this case the timing might be right. However will Goff be ready to go?
Pierre Garcon, Wide Receiver, Washington: Estimated Cost 3 years, $21M (Updated – signing with the 49ers
Garcon told the Washington Post of the weekend that he thought any team needing a veteran wide receiver would be a good fit for him but noted rumors about the Rams because of new head coach Sean McVay. Will there be a reunion?
Martellus Bennett, Tight End, New England Patriots: Estimated Cost 3 years, $21M
Giving Bennett to Goff would allow the young quarterback to have a release valve who also could add yards after the catch. Bennett’s presence also would allow the Rams to focus using wide receiver Tavon Austin on more explosive plays.
Larry Warford, Offensive Guard, Detroit Lions: 4 years, $32M
While other offensive linemen have garnered notable contract extensions thus far into the offseason, Warford could land a significant deal upon becoming an unrestricted free agent for the first time as a professional guard. This is a very steep price for the Rams, especially after the franchise tag of Johnson, but maybe they need to kick out Robinson and add Warford?
Ricky Wagner, Offensive Tackle, Baltimore Ravens: Estimated Cost 4 years, $28M
Wagner’s greatest strength lies in his all-around consistency: from his balanced skills to his durability. At 6-foot-6, 310 pounds, Wagner plays both the run and the pass at a high level, not showing a significant weakness in any part of his game.
