Things Are Not All Bad With the Red Sox

It has been a tough week, month, season, and year for the Red Sox but sometimes you have to take a step back and look at the big picture.  There are some things that are more important than baseball and for the next few days some Red Sox players will be doing some great charity work.  Tonight is the 6th annual Beckett Bowl – a charity event raising money to benefit the Josh Beckett Foundation and Boston Children’s Hospital.

The evening includes a celebrity bowling tournament with live and silent auctions, followed by the Beckett Bowl 10 Man Jam, presented by WKLB, at the House of Blues Boston with performances from country musicians Pat Green, Kevin Fowler, Randy Rogers, Stoney LaRue, and many more.

Expected to attend this year’s event include many of Beckett’s Red Sox teammates, as well as New England Revolution players Chris Tierney, Kevin Alston, Darrius Barnes, A.J. Soares, Tim Murray and Lee Nguyen, ESPN Soccer analyst Taylor Twellman; former New England Patriots Max Lane and Kevin Faulk; Celtics personality Coach Willie Maye; and many more.

The 11th annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon is also happening this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Over the span of 36-hours and two Boston Red Sox games, this broadcast features compelling stories from Dana-Farber patients, doctors, researchers and nurses, celebrity guests and athletes, inspiring people all over the world to support Dana-Farber’s mission. There are also special ceremonies prior to both Red Sox games during the two-day period.

Do what you can to help Red Sox players help others where it matters most.
