If an opposing team doesn't want to face one person in our rotation, who would that person be? Without a doubt, it would be Clay Buchholz. Buch once again took the mound and just mowed down the competition. He also had a lot of help with the offense hitting bombs all over the place, including Mike Napoli who went deep twice in the game.
Clay Buchholz entered the game with a 5-0 record and was looking like an early candidate for the Cy Young. Buch did nothing to change that opinion in his outing. Buchholz pitched 7 strong innings while only giving up 2 hits. He just looked crazy good. His pitching line for the night was 101 pitches, 7 IP, 0 R, 3 BB and 8 Ks. Buchholz was followed up by Alex Wilson and Clayton Mortensen. Wilson pitched 2/3 of the 8th inning and gave up the first RBI of the game. Morty came in for the final out of the 8th and then pitched himself a scoreless 9th to put the game to bed.
The Red Sox offense was on fire last night. They definitely bounced back well from Tuesday night's loss. The Sox bats scored 10 runs and had 15 hits during the night. In the 2nd, the Sox jumped on the board early when Stephen Drew hit a 2 run HR off of Buehrle. That was Drew's first HR in a Sox uniform. Drew was 3 for 5 for the evening which was much needed since he's been struggling at the plate. In the 4th, Napoli and Nava hit back to back HRs. Sox 4-0. Napoli's HR was a blast that went into the 4th deck of the Rogers Centre. In the 7th, Gomes was able to score from 3rd on a wild pitch and then Napoli blasted away again. Napoli hit a 3 run bomb and it was a no doubter. Sox 8-0. After the Jays scored their teeny tiny little run in the 8th, the Sox bats got right back to it. Mike Carp got into the HR Derby and then Nava hit an RBI single to score Napoli. Sox 10-1.

The Red Sox won. The Celtics won. The Bruins won. It's a wee bit of an understatement that it was a good night for Boston sports fans last night.
