The Red Sox are ready to have Xander Bogaerts as their starting shortstop and seem to be moving on from Stephen Drew. John Farrell made it seem like the Red Sox had turned the page:
I can tell you the conversations with Xander to date have been to focus on shortstop. If that needs to be adjusted, we’ll address it at that time, but we’re moving forward with the players that are here.
Stephen Drew remains a free agent.
