It has been reported by ESPN that the Red Sox have resigned Stephen Drew for the remainder of 2014 pending a physical. The Sox have been struggling with an ineffective left side of the infield and the signing of Drew will hopefully do some to alleviate those issues. Drew was a part of the World Series team in 2013 and while at times he struggled offensively, he was always consistently above average defensively at short.
A tweet from Nick Cafardo said “Stephen Drew will be on the Red Sox active roster on Wednesday according to an industry source.” Following tweets from Cafardo said that Drew has been working out in Miami and Georgia and that players really wanted him back.
