Jimmy Cordle Out

Bucknuts.com is reporting that Jimmy Cordle is out for 3-4 weeks with an ankle injury.  J.B. Shugarts will be starting in his place at the Right Tackle spot, with Mike Adams making his way back into the two deep behind him.

This severely reduces our depth at Tackle and could cause problems if anyone else goes down, along with taking away the most experienced player on the line.  I feel like we’re going to miss his presence on the line, even despite the several gaffes he’s had (a couple holding calls and a couple false starts).

Hopefully Cordle can make a swift recovery and return to the field.  It would be terrible for this to completely ruin his Senior season.

EXTRA THOUGHTS – The next 3-4 weeks include opponents named Toledo, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. No teams in there that we shouldn’t dominate.   Let the kid get some rest on that injury while we battle with opponents we should handle with relative ease.  The line will be stronger when he returns due to bonus minutes being spread around his replacements.
