5 years ago this week, the Boston Celtics completed a trade that brought Kevin Maurice Garnett to Beantown. The franchise, this city and it’s fans have not been the same since. Many outside of Boston cannot stand KG and his “antics”. I love them. His unbridled passion brings life to the TD Garden, and his dedication to the game he loves is unrivaled. When I am at a Celtics home game, and KG is not in the lineup, it just isn’t the same. The lights are dimmer, the music is softer and the energy level is much lower. To say that he is the heart and soul of the Celtics is an understatement.
I am very much looking forward to a few more years of chest-thumping, Gino-dancing, stanchion stare downs and everything else that makes Boston love the Big Ticket. Enjoy some memorable moments, via photo & video, from KG’s first 5 years in Boston. Boo-boo, go to bed.
