Traverse City Tourney
Blues 9, Stars 6
The youngsters and prospects square off against the Stars young guns and emerge victorious by a score of 9 to 6, giving the young Notes a solid start to the tournament.
High scoring and another look at our prospects, what’s not to love? In the first game for the Blues in the eight team tournament, the Blues were all knotted up at four at the conclusion of the second period before exploding with a five goal third period.
Below is the boxscore from the game, but here are a few quick thoughts:
- Jack Combs (you may remember him from the stellar shootout video from the Prospect Camp in July) continues to impress, scoring a goal for the Note in this game.
- Also amongst the scorers, and possibly the holder of one of the best names currently in the NHL, was youngster T.J. Fast. Here’s to hoping he can make it in the NHL just so “Fast” jerseys appear at Blues games – awesome.
- While goaltender Jake Allen allowed six goals, he really wasn’t all that bad. Stopping 31 of 37 isn’t as horrific of a mark as the final tally may indicate, but clearly he will look to improve.
- Great start by the kids, hear’s to hoping they keep it up!
