Due to the tragic events of last week, Double Scribble’s “In The Paint” opening was postponed until this coming Friday. Opening night is sold out, but the exhibit/display will remain at Cambridge’s Voltage until May 18th. If you’ve already purchased your tickets, the event starts at 7pm this Friday at Voltage. You can see some of the fantastic art and get more details over at In The Paint’s Tumlbr site.

**This event was rescheduled from its original date, Friday, April 19th.**
On Friday, April 26th two of Boston’s most time-honored traditions will be celebrated in tandem: art and basketball. Presented by the Cleveland-based basketball art blog Double Scribble (which has recently appeared on popular sports sites ESPN and SB Nation) and Cambridge institution Voltage Coffee and Art, In the Paint: A Celebration of Art and Basketball will feature local artists as well as others from around the country. The multi-media show will not only explore the passion and strong sense of community that unites fans and players, but will also allow non-fans to experience the unique “love of the game” that basketball inspires.
Join us for the opening celebration Friday, April 26th beginning 7 PM at Voltage Coffee and Art (295 3rd Street, Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA). Somerville DJs “Big Digits” will be spinnin’ and there will be beer, nibbles, and, of course, kick ass art. Tickets are required and free (!!) and we’ll be collecting a $5 suggested cash donation at the door to benefit Shooting Touch, a Massachusetts charity providing basketball training and education to underprivileged youth.
In addition, and in light of last week’s events here in our beautiful city, Voltage Coffee & Art will donate it’s profits from any art sales now through the opening reception to www.onefundboston.org.
