Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
According to Eurobasket.com’s David Pick, Michigan star and former Maine Red Claw Deshawn Sims has been invited to attend Celtics training camp this fall:
Following a strong season in the Middle East, former Michigan standout DeShawn Sims was invited to vet-camp by the Boston Celtics.

Since going undrafted in 2010, Sims has literally been around the world & back in the pursuit of his hoop dreams. He played with P.A.O.K. in Greece, the Red Claws of the NBDL, Piratas de Quebradillas of the Puerto Rican league & in both South Korea and Lebanon. He’s still young at 25, but Sims has been through quite a bit more than the average twenty-five year old. He was thrust into the “man of the house” role at 14 after his father was sent to prison, and his brother Marcus was killed during his freshman year at Michigan. Many would have let life get the better of them, but Sims went on to graduate from UM and continue his dream of one day playing in the NBA. He’s a strong-willed kid who will no doubt go into camp ready to fight for a spot on the C’s roster.
Sims just wrapped up a successful season with Hekmeh BC of the Lebanese league where he averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds a game. Celtics training camp opens in approximately 5 weeks.
