There was only one moment of this game during which the Celtics were in this game, and that was immediately after the opening tip. It took the Celtics nearly half of the first quarter to score a basket, and by then bloodbath was well under way. The first quarter was a blizzard of Rockets running off turnovers and misses that amounted to a 40-point total and 22 point lead. From there, it was an ugly slog that saw the Rockets just tack points onto that lead.
The Green
Yes, there’s an actual item for this section tonight. Jared Sullinger actually played pretty well, holding his own against Dwight Howard. He finished with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Courtney Lee actually led the team with 17 points. In a game where the team shot 32%, Lee and Sullinger were 11-26 (42.3%).
The Gross
Everything else that happened in this game, basically. Especially the complete lack of Jeff Green and the return of bad Jordan Crawford.
Look, I know Green’s not the go-to guy, but he’s gotta be something out there. He’s too talented to be whatever he’s been over the last few games.
The Greenlights
In lieu of highlights, please enjoy this video of puppies barking at a vacuum.

- Terrence Jones: 24 points (10-12 fg, 1-1 3pt, 3-4 ft), 9 rebounds
- Field goal attempts: Boston-99, Houston-72
- Field goals made: Boston-32, Houston-41
- Points in the paint: 60-30 Houston
- Second-chance points: 24-5 Boston (yes, Boston)
- Jeff Green: 4 points (2-7 fg, 0-2 3pt, 0 ft attempts)
- Jordan Crawford: 6 points (1-8 fg), 4 assists
This is what happens when you face a real basketball team. If Miami gave half the effort Houston did tonight….well… let’s just be glad they didn’t and we have that memory. You can’t play Orlando 80 times a season.
