How’s this for point guard production in 48 minutes: 23 points, 13 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 TOs?
That’s the combined stat line for Jordan Crawford (21 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds) and Phil Pressey (2 points, 8 assists, 3 steals). Rondo who?
The Celtics ripped off two key runs in this game; a 17-2 stretch at the start of the 2nd quarter that turned a 7-point deficit into an 8 point lead, and a 9-0 run at the start of the 4th quarter that turned a tight game into an 11-point cushion.
Boston wins its second straight, 96-86 over the Bobcats.
In my game preview, I tabbed Courtney Lee vs Ramon Sessions as the wildcard match-up. Lee (13 points, 4-7 FG) easily outplayed Sessions (5 points, 1-7 FG).
The Green:
I touted Crawford and Pressey in my intro, but Brandon Bass and Gerald Wallace also stepped up and delivered solid performances. Props to Kris Humphries and the Celtics interior defense for limiting Al Jefferson to 14 points and 3 rebounds.
How’s this for ball protection – C’s with only 11 turnovers.
The Gross:
Avery Bradley was 1-6 FG in 9 minutes. Jared Sullinger – sports a wrap on his thumb/wrist – had 5 points on 2-9 shooting.
