Your Morning Dump..Where Melo Is Bitter

Carmelo-Anthony-mad

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

“That game left a bitter taste in my mouth and everybody’s mouth,” Carmelo Anthony said on Monday. “It was unacceptable, that game. We remember that.”

Chris Forsberg-Melo Still Bitter About Loss To Boston

Carmelo-Anthony-madIt’s anybody’s guess which Celtics team will show up tonight in NYC. Boston is currently in a skid where they’ve dropped 14 of their last 16 games. Granted, some of those losses were decided by 4 points or less, but we’ve also seen nights where they’ve looked absolutely abysmal. But I’m hoping Boston’s general disdain for New York and vice versa will enable them to be fired-up for this one. The Knicks meanwhile have somewhat righted their ship, going 8-8 in their last 16 games. But as we’ve seen over the last few years especially, they are just as capable of coming out with a lackluster effort, or just flat out sucking. This time around, Boston will have Rajon Rondo in their arsenal, and the Knicks know exactly what he’s capable of.

“His speed in terms of getting the ball up the floor and getting it to where it’s got to go has caused problems for a lot of teams,” Woodson said.

I think the keys for Boston have to be: A) Somewhat containing Melo-he’s going to get his 20-30 points, but you cannot let him drop 50 on you. As long as you do that, (easier said then done perhaps) and don’t let guys like JR Smith or Felton torch you, you’re ok. B) Finding some offense-Boston has looked terrible offensively over the last two games. We’re going to need a big night from Green, Rondo or the both of them. I’m counting more on the former as RR obviously has a way to go & we have to be patient. Guys like Humphries & Bass crashing the boards & patrolling the paint will be key also. I absolutely hate losing to the Knicks and hope we at the very least make it a competitive game.

Page 2:  Durant is KILLING it right now

Kevin Durant went for 41 points last night in the Thunder’s win over ATL. His jumper with 1.5 seconds left sealed the deal, and KD has now scored 30 points or more in 11 straight games. Take a look at his shot chart covering his last 5 games. Try not to drool:
