“Fan Friday” is taking a break for all-star weekend along with the rest of the NBA, so in it’s place I’ve got some classic Celtics/All-Star Game highlights. The year was 1982. The NBA’s best suited up for the league’s annual All-Star Game at Brendan Byrne Arena in E. Rutherford, New Jersey.

For the West, you had Gervin, Gus Williams, Kareem, Dantley & Ronnie Shelton in the starting lineup. The East had Celtics Bird & Archibald, along with Dr. J, Isiah & Artis Gilmore. Behind Bird’s 19 points, 12 rebounds & 5 assists, the East pulled out a 120-118 victory. Bird was named the game’s Most Valuable Player, and teammate Robert Parish could have easily been voted co-MVP. The Chief put in 21 points and grabbed 7 boards during his 20 minutes off the bench.
