Stevens was asked if maybe his players could see the finish line with only 12 days remaining in a frustrating 2013-14 campaign.
“That may be the case,” he admitted. “I hope that’s not the case. I said in [the locker room], ‘I’m going to swing, swing hard until 10 or 10:30 [p.m.] on April 16 — our last game — and I want whoever’s going to swing — let’s go. Let us play. Let’s get after it.’ It is a long year, but sometimes, you need to dial yourself back to ‘it’s a game that you really enjoy.’ And take the outside pressure off, take the how-you’re-playing-the-last-game off, and just play with a clear mind and with freedom. … We need to do that with the last six games. We need to play better than we’ve played the last two. I’ve got no problem with our effort prior to these two, but these two, we got the result we deserved.”
That’s our guy. Coaching his ass off until the bitter end. And I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I’ve said this all season long. Tanking starts and ends at the top.
If Wyc and Danny want to focus on the draft lottery, it’s their job to give Stevens the worst possible roster. Hold guys out from injury (Rondo) or shut players down (Wallace and hopefully Bradley).
As for the clown who blurted this towards the bench after the game:
Where’s the anger? You just lost to Philadelphia! Somebody get mad!
Get a clue. This loss means as much as the wins over Miami.

On Page 2, Leon Powe wants to buy a team.
Powe, who was in town representing the ’08 Celtics championship team during the Boston Red Sox opening ceremonies on Friday, wants to someday own an NBA team.
“I always wanted to do it,” Powe told CSNNE.com prior to Boston’s 111-102 loss to Philadelphia. “I had a dream when I was younger to make it to the NBA, and be a businessman.”
Although there is not an NBA team currently for sale, Powe said he is in the process of putting together a group of potential investors in case one does hit the open market soon.
A league source told CSNNE.com that two teams that might be made available in the near future are the Milwaukee Bucks and the Orlando Magic.

I hope he knows a lot of wealthy people. He earned about $3.6 million over his 5 year NBA career. A healthy number to live off but about $400 million short to buy a team.
Is Powe standing on the ground or the back of that cart?
