If you missed last night’s 5-3 victory over the Dallas Stars, you not only missed a very entertaining tilt but also a bit of history. With just under seven minutes played in the third period, Evgeny Grachev missed a great opportunity when the puck came through the crease and he missed an attempt on the short side. However, thanks to David Perron’s incredible vision on the ice, Grachev’s first NHL goal took place just a few moments later from another pass through the crease that the young Russian was able to capitalize on.

One down, hopefully many more to come.

It took 28 NHL games for Grachev to record his first goal at the NHL level. His first came in his 20th game as a member of the St. Louis Blues – the other eight were spent within the New York Rangers.

It’s safe to say that Grachev made the most of his opportunity to join the team’s second line while T.J. Oshie recovers from an injury to his wrist. Skating with Patrik Berglund and David Perron, the line continually pressured the Dallas defense with a perfect combination of speed and agility from Perron and size and strength from Berglund and Grachev.

Grachev now has points in his last two contests, with an assist coming in the team’s contest against the Coyotes on the 23rd.
