Paul Pierce, aka the mother effing Truth, continues to terrorize his Eastern conference foes. Today’s victims: the Atlanta Hawks. In yet another ridiculously dramatic ending in this year’s playoffs, Pierce banked in a fall away at the buzzer to give his Washington Wizards a 103-101 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The Wiz are now up 2-1 in their semifinal series. Washington was up by 21 points with about 10 minutes left, but the Hawks stormed back, and a Mike Muscala trey tied it with 14.1 left. But Pierce spoiled any chance of a Hawks victory with his last second heroics. The Truth has been Washington’s vocal leader and his big game playoff experience has been invaluable during the young Wiz’ postseason run.
After the game. ESPN’s Chris Broussard asked Truth if he called bank, to which Paul answered: “I called game. GAME!” God I love this guy. DC & ATL will be back at it on Monday night in Game 4.
