Celtics fans using music & social media to try & bring The Truth back home

Last week, the interwebs were abuzz with rumblings that Paul Pierce could be on his way back to Boston. Celtics fans everywhere were excited at the possibility of the one & only Truth returning to Mass to finish his NBA career. The buzz has died down somewhat, but that’s not stopping some loyal Pierce supporters from doing all they can to try & bring him home. My good friend JFK from Showoff Records, who already has an extensive catalogue of Celtics themed tracks under his belt, has put together an ode to a Truth return. The track, entitled “Paul Pierce”, was originally going to be recorded shortly after Danny Ainge gave Boston fans a collective kick in the nuts by trading Pierce (and KG) to the Brooklyn Nets back in July of 2013. Peep the video below, and watch for my quick cameo.

Any Boston Celtics fan would agree, it was a sad day to see him playing in another teams uniform. Throughout the past two seasons, it’s still been a pleasure to see him continue to find success and further cement himself as a Basketball Icon. However, while Celtics fans may have enjoyed cheering for him despite the change of scenery (because that’s how hardcore fans roll), the opportunity has come for Pierce to potentially return to the place where he began his illustrious career.

By signing this petition, you are letting Pierce and the entire Celtics Organization know that you wish to see a Legend return home. The team is young, talented, has arguably the best young coach in the business, and an incredible front office. Sometimes it takes a person who’s achieved the success that others wish to attain, to help guide the way. Who better to do this than “The Truth”? #BringTruthHome

I would absolutely love to see Paul Pierce come back home and finish his career in green. However I also know that Danny Ainge has his own ideas and that one of them may very well not be to sign Pierce. But hey, a guy can dream right….? And as someone once said, “Anything’s possibllllllllllle!” Head over to StandUnited.org to sign the petition.
