Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big story line. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiaAY3JO1S8]The NBA is keeping us entertained this August by giving us 20-minute long clips of the best last season had to offer. Today, they give us the 100 best dunks of the 2014-15 season… a clip book-ended by Celtics plays. At 1:55 it’s former Celtic Jeff Green with the highlight, and at 16:55, it’s former Celtic Brandon Bass with a huge put-back in the playoffs.
Lots of sick plays in this one, so grab a coffee and enjoy.
Page 2: Please don’t ever reduce the Garden to this BS
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FiOCpTN5Jk]Kobe Bryant produced another banner in the Staples Center on Friday night — only this time he was the presenter.
The five-time NBA champ appeared on stage during Taylor Swift’s show to present the pop megastar with a banner recognizing her for the most sold-out shows at Staples.
This is probably an old man “get off my lawn” thing, but I’d be crying in my beer if I walked into the Garden, looked up, and saw a Taylor Swift (or Billy Joel) banner hanging next to one of the Celtics banners.
The problem here is I don’t have confidence in the Deleware North company (run by Bruins owner and notorious penny-pincher Jeremy Jacobs) to pass on a marketing opportunity like this if it presents itself.
Please don’t do this. Just…. please don’t.
