Kevin Garnett in front of a microphone is one of life’s great pleasures. The man is a quote machine, especially if he’s in a good mood. The KG/Paul Pierce “Super Man theme music” remains a classic, and there were few post-win interviews that didn’t include some sort of humorous KG moment.
Now, at 39 years old and 20 years into his NBA career, the game might be slipping away from Mr. Kevin Maurice Garnett… but his wit most certainly is as sharp as ever. Canis Hoopus has compiled the best quotes from Minnesota’s media day, including several KG gems. I’ll share a couple here… you’ll have to go there for the rest.
First, Garnett busts the balls of his good friend and acting head coach Sam Mitchell for sharing too many stories about his days in Toronto.

And then in response to being asked to play center:
KG also said he still hates playing center. “Nope, I still hate the center position. I’m 235-240 [pounds]. Guys who play the center, DeAndre Jordan, are 275-280. Like, that’s outweighing me by 40 pounds. But what I don’t make up in weight, I make up in heart and balls, so it’s all good.”
Umm… KG… the line is “grit and balls,” sir…
I never want KG to leave the NBA.
