Well, that was easy. The Celtics throttled the Wizards tonight, 111-78, and it wasn’t even that close. Boston started strong and it was evident almost immediately that Washington was not in the mood to play.
The Celtics went right to the basket. 6 of their first 9 shots came in the paint. They jumped out to a 14-6 lead and ended the quarter up 11. There was no let up in the 2nd quarter. David Lee (12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) and Isaiah Thomas (21 points) combined for 13 straight points as the C’s kept the lead in double-digits. Jared Sullinger (18 points, 15 rebounds) reached a double-double before the half.
Randy Whitman went small to start the 3rd quarter (benching Kris Humphries for Jared Dudley) but it didn’t work as the lead ballooned to a high mark of 25. Whitman wasn’t happy and took his frustration out on a cameraman:
Randy Wittman just pushed a cameraman in the gut. Trying to get him out of the huddle – now complaining to security. Celtics up 83-58

The lead reached 38 with 3 minutes left when Kelly Olynyk (12 points, 4-5 3 FG) nailed his 3rd triple of the quarter. Good night, Washington. This was the kind of game that gets coaches fired (see McHale, Kevin).
Green
Sullinger dominated. He could have easily had a 25 point, 20 rebound stat line.
Amir Johnson (6 points, 8 rebounds) played his best game in recent memory. He wasn’t great, just noticeable. I hope this is the beginning of a trend.
Gross
Jonas Jerebko (4 points, 1-7 FG) is still in a deep slump. Over his last 6 games Jonas is 2-23 FG and 0-6 3 FG.
