That face when you realized you’re not only the coach of the 76’ers, but you willingly chose to re-up your deal and continue dealing with this mess.
We all watched the Celtics dismantle Philly last night… which was a welcome relief from the past couple of Sixers too-close-for-comfort experiences. But unlike some of his players who made some excuses….
“I think it was an opportunity for us,” Nerlens Noel said. “But we all have to take account of the circumstance we were under with the weather and all. Sitting in all day the day before . . . I think that was definitely a factor.”
… a broken Brown cut right to the chase…
“I don’t have much to say,” he said. “That was a bad NBA game tonight from our standpoint….
“I don’t even know what team I coached tonight,” Brown said. “That’s not who we are. Fortunately we got a few wins on the board previous to this game where you can say, ‘Yeah, I agree, we see what you saw.’ I’m not going to be out of control with my comment, that’s what we saw. We were poor.”
You almost feel bad for Brown… a son of Maine with a pretty amazing background that brought him to the NBA via Australia (you can listen to him tell his story to Adrian Wojnarowski on The Vertical Podcast).
Almost.
You can feel his anguish when you see the video:
