Hawks reporter Chris Vivlamore details the one incorrect call and 3 non-calls in the final two minutes of game 1, courtesy the League’s Last Two Minute Report:

The Hawks’ Kent Bazemore should have been called for a defensive three-second violation with 1:58 remaining for an incorrect non-call. The Hawks led 94-90 at the time. The possession ended with Kyle Korver being called for a foul on the Celtics’ Isaiah Thomas.

The Korver foul on Thomas with 1:54 remaining was reviewed and deemed an incorrect call. According to the report: “Korver (ATL) maintains legal guarding position and makes incidental contact with Thomas (BOS) that does not affect his driving shot attempt.” Thomas made one of two free throws to make the score 94-91.

The Hawks’ Al Horford should have been called for an offensive foul twice in a four-second period for illegal screens as incorrect non-calls. According to the report, Horford did not allow the Celtics’ Evan Turner (55.3 seconds remaining) and Marcus Smart (51.1 seconds) room to avoid contact. The Hawks held a 96-93 lead at the time of the non-calls. The Celtics were in a bonus situation.

Whistling Horford for one of those offensive fouls would have changed the course of the game. While the Hawks did not score on that possession, what followed was the Evan Turner missed 3-pointer and the Marcus Smart intentional foul. Two huge gaffes on Boston’s part.

Remember this alleged travel by Al Horford? The league ruled Horford and Thomas both had their hands on the ball and then Horford took two legal steps. Every time I watch the video I gasp in horror at the lack of a box-out by Amir Johnson.

Congrats to James Capers, Derrick Collins, and Rodney Mott. You did a helluva job.
