As we mentioned yesterday, Isaiah Thomas travelled to Shanghai, China over the weekend. Along with D’Angelo Russell from the Los Angeles Lakers, IT promoted NBA Cares, ran a clinic for young hoop hopefuls and coached a team in a 5-on-5. Thomas’ team all wore Celtics gear, while Russell’s wore the dreaded purple & gold. It was a pretty competitive game, with the Celtics contingent actually getting a “BEAT LA” chant going! Thomas & Russell also were judges in an amateur slam dunk contest. Here’s a short clip from the pickup game:
Some of this may be lost in translation, but afterwards IT was quoted as telling kids: “enjoying the game is most important, as is hard work, training & believing in yourself“.
