Guerschon Yabusele went from “who” to “whoa” in Summer League, displaying they type of footwork that belied his size. When he was drafted, “The Dancing Bear” was considered to be a draft-and-stash kind of guy… but then his play in Utah and Las Vegas had us questioning whether that would actually be the case.

Well, there are no longer questions.

Celtics forward Guerschon Yabusele, the 16th overall pick of last month’s NBA Draft, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to a league source.

With bonuses, Yabusele could make up to $1.5 million next season, the source said. The Celtics will still hold Yabusele’s NBA rights.

The move clears a roster spot as the Celtics continue to maneuver for potential trade and remaining free agents. We’ll probably see Yabu next summer… in the meantime we’ll have to settle for finding online streams of him dancing through Chinese competition (I was so close in our superlatives podcast)
