Rajon Rondo is spectacular

Rajonrondo

I've never seen a point guard dominate a game like Rajon Rondo did this afternoon – 29 points, 18 rebounds, 13 assists, 2 steals in 47 minutes. To steal my buddy's words – those are Bird numbers.

Tony Allen – 15 points (6-7 FG), 4 rebounds and 2 steals – was flat out incredible in the open court and driving to the hoop.

It was Rondo, TA, Big Baby and Sheed that fueled a 10-0 run to start the 4th quarter. They turned a 2 point lead into a 12 point cushion.

Paul Pierce (9 points, 3-8FG) struggled again. He did have a huge dunk and pair of free throws in the final few minutes that preserved the Celtics slim lead. Gary Tanguay and Donny Marshall speculated that some type of illness may be the cause of Pierce's lethargic play.

The referees were AWFUL. There were horrible calls on both sides, but the Celtics got the raw end of the deal (AGAIN). The loose ball foul on KG with 2:43 left in the game may have been the worst call in the history of the NBA.

LeBron James had 22 points and 7 TOs.

Perk was a force in the paint (0 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks). He did a great job challenging shots.

The Celtics dominated the boards (47-33) and held Cleveland to just 3 offensive rebounds.

"I call him Double-R, the Rolls Royce. He's a V-8, his engine don't ever give out," Tony Allen on Rajon Rondo.
