This guy smoked us.
This guy.
SMOKED us.
The Celtics looked out of it for most of this game. It started with tight calls that sapped ANY flow from this game in the first half. The Celtics then fell into the same bullshit they pulled in March and April…
… they sulked
… they half-assed it
… they turned the ball over
… they gave up a ton of rebounds
Pau Gasol had 8.. E-I-G-H-T offensive rebounds. Kendrick Perkins and Kevin Garnett… our two tough guys… had 7 TOTAL rebounds. Pau had 14 overall.
Everyone on the Celtics was pretty much terrible. I have no earthly idea how Paul Pierce ended with 24 and 9. Those numbers look good, but he book-ended a decent start and decent finish around a big hole where he disappeared. Rajon Rondo didn't seem to have his normal energy. Ray was taken out of it with foul trouble. Perk barely mattered.
And KG…
… oh.. KG. He missed 2 point blank bunnies that summed up his night perfectly. He was just awful. He looked bad out there.
There's something about long layoffs. The C's have come out like total crap after long layoffs in these playoffs. The good thing is, the Celtics have responded well this postseason after being blown out… and they've won a series against a great team after losing game 1.
So it sucks losing game 1, but the Celtics didn't play their game at all tonight. Credit the Lakers for some fo that… but fault the Celtics for a lot of it.
