Now that Chris Paul has allegedly demanded to be traded out of New Orleans (he prefers the Knicks, Magic or Lakers and maybe Portland and Dallas), the media and fans have started rampant speculation about deals.
Bill Simmons (via Twitter):
Boston has the hammer offer if they want to make
it: Rondo, Perkins, Sheed's ghost, No. 1 + 3m for CP3 + Okafor. NO has
to say yes to that.
The guys at Celtics Hub remind us that the emergence of Darren Collision might deter the Hornets from taking Rondo.
Update: Because Rondo is classified as a base year compensation player in 2010-11, a 3rd team is needed to facilitate a trade.
Update: Paul prefers the Knicks because Carmelo Anthony is also heading there so they can team up with Amare Stoudemire and beat the Heat, a source tells ESPN.
