If
Wallace were to return, Boston would have the kind of frontcourt depth
and versatility that would be unmatched in the NBA this season.

Color me skeptical (it's in the back row of the Crayola 120 pack), but I think this is 100% Shaq lobbying and 0% Sheed expressing doubt. I still think Sheed is done.
BUT…
If he's not… the Cetlics could go into next season with KG, J O'Neal, Shaq, Sheed, and Baby with Perk joining the party come playoff time. The Celtics would be one of the longest teams in the NBA. Of course, that doesn't address a slight lack of height at the guard spot… but I still think the C's have done the best possible job at addressing their biggest weakness… and the single biggest reason why they lost Game 7: height down low and rebounding.
Should Sheed return, he'd only add to it… and he could hang around the perimeter like he wants to without us having an aneurysm when he does.

"It’s definitely interesting to me, because I think he can help us,"
Allen said. "One of our bad traits this past year was offensive
rebounding and rebounding in general, and he’s a guy that takes up a lot
of space, so I definitely think he can help us."Allen said he wasn’t sure he would be returning to Boston after the
NBA finals. A good friend, he said, was even sending him advertisements
of houses for sale in Miami.
"I don’t think anybody’s mind had to be changed," he said. "I think
once the dust settled, we all had to understand what our stance was.
Everybody took a look and said, ’We still have something good here, and
we don’t want to give it away.’"
