Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Back in Vegas, the boys stopped at Nobu in the Hard Rock Hotel one night. Great sushi. Only the gang didn’t have a reservation. More than a two-hour wait, they were told. Doc figured it was time to move on and grab dinner elsewhere, but his buddy started chatting up the hostess.
All of a sudden, the gang was seated in the middle of the restaurant and being treated to free appetizers.
“I still got juice for an old-timer,” Doc thought to himself.
Then the waitress came over.
“It is an honor to have you here Mr. Jordan,” she said. “You are very good basketball player!”
Doc Rivers makes like Michael Jordan in Vegas
Yeah… they look exactly the same.
Doc apparently was telling stories at a charity event a couple of weeks ago and they're saving some of the good ones for this very slow time of the offseason.
If you want some actual NBA news… Carmelo Anthony apparently has had enough of Denver. That sucks for Denver… but it's great news for us and Adrian Wojnarowski because it allows us to read the shots at Worldwide Wes… who is fast becoming the most annoying figure in the NBA right now.
Carmelo Anthony wants out of Denver, and Worldwide Wes delivered that message to the Nuggets with all the delicacy of a jackhammer at Sunday morning services. Do yourself a favor and trade him, the agent told the organization weeks ago.
Denver was furnished with a short list of teams and told to get to work. Yes, this is how William Wesley and Leon Rose of CAA work now, thick with threats and ultimatums and a swagger suggesting that the sport belongs to them. After Anthony told owner-in-waiting Josh Kroenke that he still wanted out of Denver during a Sunday meeting, the Nuggets appear done trying to sell their All-Star forward on a contract extension.
Honestly… I hope these GM's stand up to this guy and take whatever "power" he's brokering and shove it deep into his nether regions.
