Don't tell me you're at work on Labor Day? C'mon, what kind of crap job do you have?
I know you're at work because there's no way anyone should be cruising our site at noon on a gorgeous Labor Day. (And if you are, you're awesome. We love you. Chuck is on his way with a delicious fruit basket).
But since you're here, let me help you kill a whole lotta time.
Let's start with the latest edition of the 8th Seed podcast… the internet's only 8-man NBA podcast. This month, Jared Wade has the hosting duties… which means head on over to Both Teams Played Hard to listen to the show.
We talk Team USA a lot, specifically discussing their 2-point win over Brazil, and while the squad has played two more games since then, there wasn’t a lot to be learned by watching Kevin Durant, Eric Gordon and company stomp Iran and Tunisia by a combined 75 points.
We also talk about the Melo situation in Denver, call Matt Moore a racist, launch the soon-to-be-recurring “Try to Make Zach Cry Segment,” break down the Summers of Dallas, San Antonio, Minnesota, Los Angeles (Clippers) and Boston, which, as John Karalis lets us know has “cornered the market on O’Neals.”
Cast and crew (only seven of us this month … Michael De Leon of Project Spurs couldn’t make it):
- Me, your host, of here, Eight Points Nine Seconds and Hardwood Paroxysm
- Jeff Garcia of Project Spurs
- Zach Harper of Talk Hoops, Cowbell Kingdom, Hardwood Paroxysm, Raptors Republic and A Wolf Among Wolves
- John Karalis of Red’s Army
- Glenn Moore of The Dugout Sports Show
- Rey Moralde of The No-Look Pass and SLAMonline
- … and this month’s special guest, Rob Mahoney of The Two Man Game, Hardwood Paroxysm, and NBC’s ProBasketballTalk
Did you miss the last episode of Boston & That Sports Babe? Jackie was a late scratch forcing me into solo hosting duties… so if you're into train wreck radio, this is your show. Why train wreck? Well, at one point, I describe what I'm doing and I compare myself to the "I'm a little teapot" song. Yeah.
And finally, I hopped on Project Spurs "Spurscast" to defend myself… at least my video self. Short version: I fired up NBA 2K10, started a new career, got invited to Spurs camp, then got torched for 34 by Richard Jefferson and got cut. I told them that and they ridiculed me on the show. Here's my chance to redeem myself… sorta.
Is it ground breaking stuff? No. But you're the one looking to the internet to kill time. I'm just providing options.
