Too bad Vince Carter isn’t a time traveler.
The Magic and their fans can only wish this were May, their journey well into the postseason.
This is the kind of Carter you want to see when it counts:
Taking smart shots… two feet on the ground to launch one of the league’s prettiest jumpers…. attacking the basket …..and sticking in his nose in on the defensive end.
Carter has been dynamite this preseason. He’s in better shape, especially his lower body, and he’s driven because he’s in a contract year.
The preseason is the preseason, and he surely doesn’t want anyone making “Mr. October” references.
Too bad Vince, we couldn't pass up the chance to promote your new nickname.
Brian Schmitz of the Sentinel says that Stan Van Gundy needs to preserve Carter in the same way Doc Rivers and Gregg Popovich manage Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan.
I don't think Vince Carter's post season woes have anything to do with energy. He's never been a defensive minded, do what's good for the team kinda guy.
And that won't change just because he has fresh legs.
