Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
The Raptors, meanwhile, are close to a five-player deal that would send point guards Jarrett Jack and Marcus Banks and center David Andersen to the New Orleans Hornets for guard Jerryd Bayless and sharpshooter Peja Stojakovic.
With the league offices closed, the deal may not be consummated until tomorrow, meaning all five players could be frozen until then. That means the Raptors’ only point guard would be Jose Calderon for today’s game.
Globe – Raptors may be a little strapped
Spare point guard anyone?
Rajon Rondo traveled with the Celtics to Toronto, but is questionable for this afternoon's game. With Delonte West back, I'm advocating Doc to sit Rondo.
Even without RR, the Cs should be able to handle a depleted Raps roster.
On Page 2, the Heat suffer another major injury.
"What I've heard is, I mean I haven't heard from any docs, but he dislocated his second toe and he tore a few ligaments in his foot somewhere," forward LeBron James said. "I don't know how long he'll be out, but any time one of your teammates goes out, it hurts.
"It's huge. He's like our heart of our team. He's our power. He's our pride. He brings everything every night."
Sun Sentinel – Lebron senses Haslem's foot injury serious
This could be a devastating blow to the Heat. Haslem is their toughest player.
