Will Dmitrij Jaskin stay up at the NHL level with the St. Louis Blues as the 2014-15 season starts? That has been one of the intriguing stories to follow during the preseason and to date, the question remains officially unanswered. However, if you ask the Chicago Wolves, Jaskin will be with the Blues to start the year.
As seen in the Chicago Sun-Times, head coach John Anderson commented on the situation:
“As far as I assume they plan on keeping him. He’s played well. I know when I’ve seen him play he played well. The two games I saw him play (he was) very good. I’d love to have Jask back but as I realized from watching him play I probably doubt it.”
While no decision has been made and the call ultimately doesn’t involve Anderson, it’s interesting to hear that he thinks Jaskin will be with the Blues. Considering the immense depth the club has at forward thanks to a bunch of moves this summer, Jaskin’s odds of making the club seemed to diminish some with each passing transaction. Still, he has been a strong forward and members of the front office have stated that Jaskin will have a spot on the roster in 2014-15.
Stay tuned. The Blues have some very difficult decisions to make as they trim down their roster.
