The Celtics are typically a big draw wherever they go. They're one of those teams that always seems to have a bunch of fans in the opposing arena.
As part of our partnership with TiqIQ, we're getting a little bit of a deeper look at what the secondary ticket market is saying about fans' excitement in each city for the games. Right now, the Celtics game tonight is the most expensive ticket of the year at MSG… showing Knicks fans are dying to get into that building and see their team's biggest test of the season. Prices this week are up 96% on the secondary market.
Meanwhile, it's relatively inexpensive to get to a C's-Knicks game at the Garden. For C's fans… the Knicks are pretty much just another team. It's probably a function of C's fans not buying into the NYK hype yet. I'll bet that if the Knicks manage to beat the Celtics tonight, then we'll see demand.. and thus, prices… for those tickets go up because it will become a "revenge" game.
So Paul Pierce was probably right to act surprised about all the rivalry talk. Right now… this is pretty one-sided.
If you're in NY and you want to get to the game, you can click here to get tickets. Of course, you can visit our ticket page for all your C's ticket needs.
